This Privacy Policy explains how Mytrellis Ltd ("Trellis", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use our website and services. We are committed to handling your data carefully and transparently, in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1.Who we are
Trellis is a trading name of Mytrellis Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17229245), with its registered office at 66 Paul Street, Hoxton Mix, London, England, EC2A 4NA. For any privacy questions, contact us at hello@mytrellis.co.uk.
We are the "data controller" of your personal information. Our Data Protection Officer is Shakila Hashmi, who can be reached at hello@mytrellis.co.uk.
2.The information we collect
Depending on how you use Trellis, we may collect:
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Information you give us | Your name and email (e.g. to join a waitlist or create an account); financial figures you enter, such as pension values, savings, income and planned spending. |
| Information created as you use Trellis | The safe-to-spend ranges and outputs generated from your inputs; saved sessions and preferences (for account holders). |
| Technical information | Device and browser type, IP address, and usage analytics collected via cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Notice). |
You can explore your first safe-to-spend range without creating an account. We only ask for an email or account details when you choose to save results, return to them, or join our waitlist.
3.How and why we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide the Trellis service — generating your safe-to-spend range and guidance from the figures you enter;
- Save and restore your results, if you create an account;
- Communicate with you — for example, waitlist updates or service messages;
- Improve and secure our product, through analytics and monitoring;
- Meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
Our lawful bases for processing are: your consent (e.g. for marketing emails and non-essential cookies); the performance of a contract with you (providing the service you've signed up for); and our legitimate interests in operating and improving Trellis, balanced against your rights.
4.What we never do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not earn commission on your money, and we do not share your financial data with product providers to market to you. Your figures are used to give you guidance — not to sell you anything.
5.Sharing your information
We may share your information with:
- Infrastructure and hosting providers — companies that host our databases and servers, used to store and process your data securely.
- Customer communications providers — platforms we use to send you service messages, waitlist updates or, with your consent, marketing emails.
- Analytics providers — tools that help us understand how Trellis is used, so we can improve it. Data shared for this purpose is aggregated or pseudonymised where possible.
- Payment processors — if you take a paid plan, payment is handled by a third-party provider. We do not store your payment card details.
- Authorities or advisers — where we are legally required to disclose information, or to protect our rights.
All service providers are engaged under contracts that require them to protect your data and only use it for the purposes we specify. We do not sell your data to third parties. A full list of our data processors is available on request — email hello@mytrellis.co.uk.
6.How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. In general, account data is retained for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter. Waitlist data is deleted once it is no longer needed for that purpose. Analytics data is retained in aggregated or pseudonymised form. If you request deletion of your account or data, we will action that promptly, subject to any legal retention obligations.
7.Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@mytrellis.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
8.Security & international transfers
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take our obligations seriously and will notify you and the ICO promptly in the event of a breach that affects your rights.
Where data is processed outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place — for example, by using providers covered by adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. We only transfer data internationally where necessary and with appropriate protections.
9.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version here and, where changes are significant, let you know directly.
